Dell has introduced announced new storage and networking solutions to help enterprises consolidate and virtualize their datacenters.
The new solutions, featuring next-generation 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE), tackle network bottleneck challenges, reduce complexity and lower costs, Dell said.
The vendor has introduced upgrades to its Dell/EMC CX4 storage products that allow to provide a full-featured storage platform.
It has also added drive spin down as a standard feature, further enhancing the ability of the CX4 to help reduce power and cooling requirements for storage.
“With a 10 gigabit option and its inherent advantages in virtualized environments, Ethernet’s case gets even stronger as the most simple and capable networking fabric,” said Praveen Asthana, a Dell storage and networking vice president.
