IBM, HP and Johnson & Johnson have taken out the top three rankings in this year’s Newsweek global green enterprise rankings.
Japanese companies took out three of the top ten spots, with Sony fourth, Panasonic eighth and Toshiba. China Mobile, in 35th position, was the highest-ranked Chinese firm.
The rankings were based on an assessment of each company’s environmental footprint and management of that footprint, along with its reputation among environmental experts, Newsweek said.
They were compiled by the US magazine in partnership with corporate research firm MSCI ESG Research, environmental monitor Trucost and CorporateRegister.com.
