Reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions means eliminating or curtailing activities that burn fossil fuels and send carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e)1 emissions into the atmosphere. This means using less petroleum to fuel our cars, trucks, trains, boats and airplanes and less coal, oil and natural gas to fire the generating plants that produce electricity to run the machines, equipment and infrastructure of our economy, and to provide light, heating and cooling to our buildings and homes.
