Nokia Siemens Networks has launched what it says is the lowest-powered server for mobile networks. It says the packet core network server consumes just 59 watts per 100,000 subscribers.

The Green Grid and DatacenterDynamics have awarded Hitachi the Grand Prix prize for a 50% reduction in energy consumption over five years in its Japanese data centers.
