The Singapore government has taken the first steps towards the electric vehicle (EV) era with the announcement of a test program for vehicle charging.
The Energy Market Authority (EMA) and the Land Transport Authority (LTA) have appointed Bosch to build and operate the city’s EV charging infrastructure as part of the EV test-bed program.
Local telco SingTel will provide the communications and Greenlots will deliver the charging network, EMA announced this week.
The charging stations will support Mitsubishi i-MiEVs that are now being tested. Other EV models are expected to become available in 2011.
In this first phase of the test program, Bosch will deploy 25 normal charging stations, offering full charge within 8 hours, and one quick charging station (45 minutes).
The charging infrastructure will be scaled up to match the take-up rate of electric cars in Singapore.
While Bosch has won the contract for the pilot rollout, other providers would be allowed to set up EV charging stations on a commercial basis.

What can you tell me about a power window regulator? Will that be improved in Singapore as well? I see that they want to innovate the car market industry. Good luck!!
With this new change in the car market maybe we will have new improved car insurance Ireland quotes as well. That would surely benefit a lot of people. Do you agree with my point of view or do you disagree? Please provide feedback. Thank you.
I hope that we will have cheaper electric cars sooner than expected. I really hope that and I also think that once we have reliable electric cars available, people will surely help with car donations because they have to get rid of their old petrol powered cars.

One of my friends who works for a car repair Philadelphia mechanics shop says that soon enough electric cars will be the next version of cars we will drive. Gas cars will be long forgotten.
