Six Senses Hideaway Yao Noi, a luxury boutique resort at the picturesque Panga Bay in Thailand, has completed the installation of an advanced, energy-efficient communications network developed by 3Com Corporation.
 
The 3Com infrastructure, which includes switches and routers, enabled seamless connectivity between Six Senses Hideaway Yao Noi and other Six Senses offices and resorts around the world while enabling guests with access to the resort’s efficient and reliable broadband and telephony services.
 
In addition to the performance and benefits of the new network, the resort realized significant power and maintenance cost savings by utilizing 3Com’s energy-efficient switches. The use of these switches is in line with Six Senses’ policy of encouraging the use of products and processes with minimal environmental impact. The Six Senses group, with branches in a number of countries, promotes energy efficiency, sustainable water and waste management, protection of natural surroundings and air quality, and noise control.

The network is 10G-ready, with only one-tenth of its capacity currently utilized. This gives Six Senses significant room to support bandwidth-hungry applications in the future such as IPTV, more speedy Internet connection and line of business applications geared toward better customer service.
