ECOtality has
sealed a deal with
Qualcomm to provide cellular connectivity to its $230m network of electric vehicle charging stations across the US, enabling real-time communications.

The installed base of smart meters in Europe will grow at CAGR of 17.9% between 2009 and 2015 to reach 111.4m, Berg Insight predicts. It says smart metering will next be introduced in France, Spain and the UK.
